The
Grocery Store
Walking the streets of Rome,
one comes across many different grocery stores. From the outside, they appear
to be small shops but once inside shoppers enter into a mini supermarket.

Unlike
in America, these grocery stores do not have many employees. Shoppers will not
come into contact with an employee unless the store is closing for the night,
they are purchasing something, or one seeks them out. Grocery stores include a
limited selection of products to choose from. One thing to note about the
grocery stores in Italy is that bags cost money. If shoppers are looking to
save money on buying plastic bags there are reusable bags for sale at the cash
register.
One
can find anything from fresh fruits and vegetables to cleaning products. Here
are some pictures of the non-edible items in one of the many grocery stores in Rome.
Some of these grocery
stores carry prepared meals. You can also sometimes
find someone behind the cheese counter, if you're lucky.
There is also a wide
array of wines in the back. If you find yourself thirsty or hungry on the
streets of Rome and want to buy your own ingredients or cheaper drinks than at
tourists sites a grocery store like the Punto Simply Market is for you.
Check out a recipe for a Ratatouille you can make with products from the Punto Simply Market and
